Good dog food. Good quality of protein but not too much protein?

I am not sure on the specific amounts your vet would recommend, or even the amounts that are in Hill's L/D, but maybe ask your vet about Nutro Natural Choice. It is an all natural, human grade food with added vitamins, minerals and taurine. They do not use ground yellow corn (allergen and filler), no by-products (heads, feet, intestines, etc.), and no artificial colors or flavors. They also have some of the highest levels of essential fatty acids (Omega 3 & 6) to help promote healthy skin and coat. I would suggest going to their website and browsing the different formulas, look at the nutritional information for each, and if you see one that you may think will work, print off the information and take it to your vet for approval.
