What video game has evil taken control over the world and someone rises up to end it?

Something like darkness or evil have taken control over the world and someone rises up to end their tyranny. For example, Batman is someone who rises up to stop evil in Gotham City. Maybe something like the whole world has gone into chaos and some hero goes out to take action (buildings broken/destroyed and possibly all heroes have fallen). Anybody out there know any video games similar like this? Or anything to put into Google? (The video games must be on PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, or DS.)
