What is your point of view on the public transportation in your city and state?

it has been discussed outside and inside of the U.S. that public transportation is for the poor while the rich do not want any public transport to be built around their neighborhood so they won't attract poor people, another saying is that the public transport is lacking because the u.s. is trying to ist the automotive industry or alternatively benefiting the automotive industry. what's your point of view on this issue?
